We had the pleasure to explore the BVI by charter boat August 9-15 with BareCat Charter Co. I’m so thankful we were able to explore the sailers paradise before Irma blew through and destroyed the area. I feel for the people of the islands, the charter companies, bars, restaurants and resorts that depend on tourism. This hurricane season has been very eye opening for me as a travel agent, I feel I have learned so much about September travel.
Our Capatin on our trip is also the owner of BareCat Travel, he is awesome and we had a great time together. He took us to the COOLEST beach bars and restaurants.
Here is the the path we took:
1) The Bight, Norman Island
Willy T floating bar that night.
Went to The Caves at Norman in the morning for a snorkel.
Went to The Baths at Virgin Gorda for hike and snorkel.
2) Spanish Town, Virgin Gorda for the night.
Went to Coco Maya for dinner and “an early night” 😂😂
3) Scrub Island Resort for a drink and dip in refreshing pool.
4) Long sail past Guana Island, Sandy Cay, Green Cay, & Sandy Spit to get to Jost Van Dyke. Soggy Dollar Bar in White Bay for afternoon, Then Great Harbor for the night. Dinner and drinks at Foxy’s.
5) Big sail in the morning zig zagging upwind to get to Cane Garden Bay, Tortola for afternoon drinks and fancy French fries. Dinner at Bananakeets up the hill. Party at Paradise Club (BEST beach club ever!!!).
6) Sopers Hole, Tortola to drop off 1/2 of the crew.
Nanny Cay for diesel and then home base.
The last night we spent at Peter Island a gorgeous resort just north east of Norman. I love this resort, it’s nice and quiet. A luxury resort.
Thinking of you guys!
