The Rockhouse Hotel in Jamaica has been on our radar for years. We finally decided to check it out this April. We stayed two nights at Rockhouse then two nights at Couples Resort. Both are in Negril and around 90 miles from the airport.
Rockhouse is a super cool place. The lounge and all the graphics were awesome. Check out the booklet. We got amazing cliff side massages, snorkeled, attempted to jump off a cliff (it’s much higher than it looks!) hung on our own private cliff during the day then went to the pool to watch sunset and partake in happy hour. This resort is not an all inclusive and we racked up a large bill in two days.
I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to do a site tour of Tensing Pen. We meet two couples at Murphy’s restaurant who have stayed at all the resorts in the area and it’s their favorite.
We then toured the new Azul Sensatori Jamaica. Great family property on a gorgeous beach!
We enjoyed our two nights at Couples Negril. My favorite part was the floats on every beach chair. There were no waves so you could float all day oh and the SUNSET’s were gorgeous.
Must do: Rick’s Cafe or similar if you aren’t staying at a cliff side resort.
Must drink: Red Stripe, of course!
Must eat: jerk chicken. It’s everywhere. We also enjoyed our meals at Rockhouse, Murphy’s and Catcha Falling Star. You must have reservations at most of the restaurants in Negril. Bring on the spice!
Ultimate: do all of the above while listening to a live reggae band and watching sunset.
